Wind Studies – Breath Choir

Breath Choir was a six-week experiment in facilitated composition with six women using only breath, informed by ancestral memory, listening to the wind, and group process. It was part of Wind Studies, a Canada Council-funded research project linking breath to wind, ancestries to present, and linking technology to biology.

Participants were artists Judith Price, Brenda Patays, Krystal Cook, Marina DiMaio, Arlene Carson, and Betsy Nuse. Breath Choir took place November – December 2019 at MediaNet’s Flux Gallery in Victoria, BC, on the unceded territory of the Lkwungen speaking people.
