In 2023, Tina Pearson was commissioned by the Walter Phillips Gallery at the Banff Centre (Alberta, Canada) to create two on site pieces based on Pauline Oliveros’ early Sonic Meditations for an upcoming exhibition “In The Present Moment“, curated by Haema Sivanesan. Working with participants from a Banff Centre Visual Arts residency, Pearson facilitated Deep Listening workshops, soundwalks toward developing a video for Oliveros’ Environmental Dialogue, and a 4-channel audio work for her Breathe In / Breathe Out, both composed in the 1970s. The two pieces were included in the exhibition at the Gallery from September 15 to December 13, 2023.
